Sudbury Methodist Church - St John's

St Johns Methodist Church

Lively church with many weekly activities.  Our worship takes place every Sunday at 10.30 am, and is an opportunity to share with others, praising and thanking God for all He is and does; to listen to His word and to be challenged to respond to all we have heard.

Twice a month there are communion services – in the main service on one Sunday in the month and at 11 am on the third Wednesday of the month.

There is a choir which helps to lead the music and we have a number of worship leaders who take part in the services.  Spark Club [Junior Church] runs at the same time as the Sunday morning service most Sundays.

What is Messy Church?  It's church, but not as you know it!  More information can be found on our website.

Messy Church takes place every two months, usually the second Sunday of the month 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Our most recent session was on Sunday 9th June on the theme "Pentecost - Power from God". We had 10 activities to show the power of the Holy Spirit to share the love of God with others - magnetic fishing, creating aeroplanes and air-powered cars with balloons and a lot else!  This was the last Messy Church carefully planned and prepared by John and Ann Boardman before they moved away from St John's.

Watch out for future developments at Messy Church at St John's in the Autumn!

The Circuit says Farewell to
Rev John and Ann Boardman - Sunday 21st July

Circuit Service 21 July 2019

An uplifting circuit service was held at St John’s Methodist Church in Sudbury as we said good bye to John and Ann as John sits down. John has been in the circuit for 10 years and we give thanks for his ministry with us.

John and Ann sent the following message to the Circuit on 24th July, shortly before their departure to their new home in Waltham, North East Lincolnshire:-

"Dear Bury St Edmunds Circuit

Thank you for your most generous gift.  Ann and I are taken aback by your expression of love.

It was lovely to see so many of you at St John’s for the circuit service.

We have been truly blessed by God for the last 10 years, through your constant prayers and practical support.  We cannot thank you enough.

So we look forward to seeing what God has in store for us in Waltham, in the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Circuit.  Do call by if you’re in N. Lincs.  We’d love to see you.

Thanks again for your generosity.

God bless.

John & Ann"

Garden Party

Jane and Paul Martland held a Garden Party at their home in Borley near Sudbury in aid of St John's church funds on Thursday 18th July, which was well-supported and blessed with good summer weather!
