Wesley Church Cambridge flower ladies retire after decades of service


Two members of Wesley Church Cambridge, with more than 50 years of service between them, have just retired from their roles.

 Mary Ashman, pictured on the left, has managed the display of fresh flowers for Sunday worship for more than 30 years, after taking over the job from her mother.



Jill Rainton has looked after the permanent silk flower displays for at least 20 years. The joy they have given members and visitors to Wesley was celebrated with gratitude during the service on 18th December 2016.

Revd Julian Pursehouse, District Chair is Installed as an Ecumenical Canon at Norwich Cathedral

On Sunday 22 January 2017, during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, three new ecumenical canons were installed to Norwich’s Anglican Cathedral.  The Bishop of Norwich, Rt Revd Graham James installed Revd Julian Pursehouse, Chair of the East Anglia Methodist District together with the Very Revd David Paul, Dean of St John’s Roman Catholic Cathedral and Pastor Jon Norman of Soul Church.
